We have launched another appeal on the just giving web site (via facebook)

The target is to raise £2000 to pay for engine strip down and inspection.

So far we have raised £100.00

https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/c54skymaster56498engineinspections?utm_id=107&utm_term=BAa3dPkDR

The first engine will be in the workshop next week and Weald are prepared to start work if we give them 10% of the inspection fee (£180)

I shall pay the deposit (I've also contributed the £100 donation)

It would be nice if a few more people could chip in as sadly I don't have the money to pay for the work myself...

Maybe hire them to find out on a 'No find, No fee' basis as well ;D

That's exactly what they've done.
Used to be called Lloyds Open Charter in the maritime world, don't know what the aviation equivalent is ( unless, of course, they're operating under the maritime system )

An immense task for those involved, both the search and the trauma.

nice to see you there today Sam (and Gregg - he can't wait to get his hands dirty!). Such an interesting project and I hope to get down to see you as and when I can, Allan gave us some background as to where you are with things and it looks promising.

good luck with it all
Andy

Nice to get some information that things are progressing, it will be interesting.

Looks like no Wings and Wheels for 2018 either.  Local paper item implies that the owners of the airfield are not allowing it - confirmed on https://xm655.com/, which may well be a deliberate attempt to starve them of funding and so kill 655.

Hi Adrian

I'm sorry to hear of your loss and extend our thanks for your father's support of XH558.

In a way this is not the best place to offer these magazines as we are all or were all members of the Club and so will have all the magazines. Can I suggest you add your offer to the Vulcan Family FB page or the Former Vulcan To The Sky Club 1997-2017 FB page as there are supporters on there who may not have been Club members and who would love to have the magazines. Also I may be able to find someone at Cold War Jets in May.

If you don't do FB I can cut and paste your message to the above sites if it helps.

Kind regards

Jane (ex-Club Chair)
