Lancaster Tribute
« on: February 17, 2011, 07:30:42 PM »
Just seen an article on BBC Look North about a Lancaster crew who perished whilst trying to land at Metheringham in Lincolnshire after a successful mission over Germany, they tried to avoid another Lancaster which was also approaching the airfield and lost control and crashed.A group of enthuisiasts  are trying to raise funds to errect a permanent memorial to commemorate the lost crew and who should pop up to give an interview resplendant with his gold Vulcan pin badge ? none other than our very own "Andy Marson",it's a small world !

Andy is a trustee of Friends of  Metheringham Aifield - and it is they who held the Memorial yesterday 67 years after the crash,  they also have super little museum.
