Where is RAF Woodford ?

At the moment there is zero access to the old factory site. The new heritage centre is due to be handed over to the Trust back end of April but won't open until August as it needs exhibits moving in etc.

Has anyone spoken to the Avro Heritage Trust about getting access to the site for the start?

In the absence of a response I'll answer myself.
I was at an Avro Heritage Trust meeting today and the powers that be think there may be an option to start at the Museum. It's still on target to be handed over to the Trust in April and open to public in August but pix outside next to 603 are possibly feasible. Depends on the contractors. Lee will be getting an email in the next few days.

Who were you emailing last time ?

Perhaps the fact I'm asking means the guys I'm talking to haven't got it. I made the mistake of looking in the magazine - silly me.

Ta. Harry Hall is the Harry. I'll pass your email on.

Some people at the Avro Trust think they'll just have to open the doors and crowds will throb in. It's in the middle of a major building site for a while yet and only has one aircraft (albeit a rather special one).

I'd have volunteered to help the ride but am away in Krakow for the B Hol weekend.

In addition I've just come back from an Avro Heritage Trust meeting.
Rather than start at the gates they will be allowed to  start outside the new Museum and hopefully in front of XM603.
A trustee will meet you at the gate and escort you in through the rubble.
Lee - can you let Terry have a rough idea of numbers. He has 25-30 max in his head.
