As things stand currently I would rather see 558 flown to the US rather than be stuck on the ground at doncaster where most interest has been lost, maybe as Sam said maybe doncaster was the wrong place for after the final flight!

I think that it would be nice to see the Skymaster flying again would be a great edition to any airshow just sad that when something good is mentioned on UKAR they always play it down and as Sam said they turn it into a slagging match.

Evening all,

just two photos from a very productive day that made a lot more visible progress the first photos shows the bracket that was manufactured on the drag spar and the second photo shows the whole wing with all the ribs clamped in place (sure Sam will post a comment with a more elaborate definition than mine) all this work is leading up to tomorrow when things will get a bit more permanent when we fibreglass the ribs to the main spar and the drag spar . Anyway here are the photos;

cheers
Jack

Evening all,

progress update with the ranger. All is going well and we have one wing well under construction and that actually looks like a wing now rather than lots of components photos not best quality as they were from my phone

cheers

Having been involved with the project I would like to add to Sam's comments and say what a great experience that I have had so far and I thoroughly look forward to working on it though the summer learning new skills gaining knowledge off of Sam and Ray that have helped me with my studies at college,
I hope to continue with the project over the next few years whilst I gain my level 3 qualification in engineering at the college and put all the theory side of the course into a practical application working on the Ranger.

cheers
Jack
