Question?  Is the £25000 hard cash and actually raised or is it pledged. Turning pledges into hard cash has always been a problem in the past. with regard the storage facility I suspect it might be a very large marquee? No planning consent required as it is a temporary structure.

In the event that a transit flight can be arranged the final destination must not include Durham Tees Valley as has been suggested on the facebook page or Liverpool John lennon.

(the same owners and they own a few shopping centres also responsible indirectly for the scrapping of a preserved Falklands conflict frigate as they wanted it and few other historic vessels off their berths within days).

She needs to be placed in semi retirement where she is accessible and is still able stretch her legs and flash the famous Vulcan silk knickers she keeps hidden.

What happens to the aircraft in these situations do they just get scrapped? 655 at Wellesbourne, 747 and VC10 at Dunsfold. :(

That is the obvious answer especially as the cost of dismantling and moving these large aircraft will be exorbitant. You then have the other problem who would like them and who has got the space to house them.  Lets hope that common sense prevails over greed Personal wealth.

These and many more airfields are seen as fair game by developers especially as they fit in with the governments "Brown Field Site" vision. However it does not mean they are right. Off course the developer is only part of the picture in a lot of cases the land owner sees £ signs and dreams of this as their lottery win without buying a weekly ticket.

In the case of Wellsbourne the situation has not been helped by the new business park to the east? and the fact that down the road to the west houses are I think quite expensive due to the historical nature of the town. The quoted figure of 1600 house will be reduced to get the plans through. Once consent is granted the number of starter homes usually get reduced as A. the builder wants more £s and B. the buyers of the expensive homes don't want shared owner / starter homes next to them.

The builders and landowners don't loose any sleep over the job losses they create or the history that they destroy

Sorry that these are a bit late

Thursday 13th 9 red fast jets doing a spot of aerial pollution and showboating over Cowes yes the date is correct.  The Red Arrows.

Friday 14th 1 x Big noisy jet showing that he could do it all by himself over Cowes. RAF Typhoon.


Today a photograph on the wall at an office in Blackburn of Three RAF VC10s at Brize Norton. I know not really in the spirit but who cares.

Interesting prospect

And one that has crossed my mind on several occasions recently.

Now who would supply the RAF with a heavy bomber?

Especially as our Aircraft manufacturing capability is shrinking along with places to operate them from.

It would be either Mainland Europe of our friends from across the pond.

I suspect any heavy bomber would come from a particular company that has been making them in various guises for many years
