« on: May 10, 2017, 12:34:30 PM »
Hello All,

Do look out for the Guardians' Magazine that will be arriving over the next few days.
Going out to all Founding Guardians, then, for this edition, the balance of past Vulcan to the Sky Club members.

Hope you like it!

Book / Film / TV Reviews / XH558 - Fifty-Five Years, Eight Seasons.

The new Trust book that covers XH558's life and brings the story right up-to-date (as of November 2015), is now on its way to over 2,200 people who pre-ordered it.

Some really excellent pictures provided by a very supportive bunch of photographers and great work by Mark (Scampton61) on the design and layout.
I'm far too modest to comment on the word content......

Hope you enjoy it!

Hello all,

Do you use eBay?  If not, can you at least register to vote for Vulcan XH558?

Hope you can help in two ways.

We are timing our run to hopefully get to 1st place. The Dog charity 'in the lead' has some 688,000 Facebook likes, so we have to be clever in case they use their contact power!

1st place is: £7,000
2nd: £3,000
3rd: £2,000

1. We are ramping up 'covertly' with promotions on all our direct channels and newsletters to push us within striking distance.

2. The newsletter on Saturday will feature more, then a final push on our own Facebook page (some mere 150,000 likes) on the Monday to get people moving in the last few days of voting.

The idea is to try to take the lead while they are caught napping!!! (so to speak...)  Votes close at the end of 2014.

The Club Facebook notice and an initial newsletter feature, together with our own Twitter feed has already climbed us from sixth place to fourth!
Last week, we were not even showing in the top ten.

In the meantime, can you vote yourself please and also tell all your family and friends too by sharing?

Please see all the details in our 'latest news' feature.

Many thanks indeed, and here's crossing everything for a top three place!

Best wishes of the season to all,

Web Site Announcements / Operation 2015 launches - to run all season.

Operation 2015

We are delighted to announce that it is now technically possible to extend XH558's flying life - but we need the funding to do it.
This work will run in tandem with the 2013 Winter Service and we need to see a total of £400,000 pledged by October this year before we can be assured of success to complete both the service and airframe modifications.

This also assumes we are able to keep the income stream going through the summer to cover existing overheads.

Web Site Announcements / First XH558 display in the VDF
« on: June 01, 2012, 04:13:58 PM »
Hi all,

I'm looking to tie down the actual date of the first public display by the VDF when using XH558. She did the TVS Airshow in Bournemouth in May 1986... just prior to the retirement of XL426 in that role.

I need to tie down the day/date. Anyone with a programme/logbook/advert or knowledge of that day please?

It will be used for a timeline of Vulcan events on various merchandise to tie in with the 60th Anniversary.

Many thanks,

Web Site Announcements / Public Access at Robin Hood
« on: April 07, 2011, 12:21:04 PM »
Public Access at Robin Hood.
Please see the latest news section for interim arrangements ahead of any longer term developments. ... rport.html

Due to our recent operational move to Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport, the airport authorities tell us they are being inundated with telephone calls with regard to the possibilities of viewing XH558.

As mentioned in an earlier newsletter, negotiations on finding a permanent solution and home are still in session and details on progress will be announced just as soon as possible. The staff there know nothing more on developments to date, so whilst the interest is very encouraging, we need to ensure we do not become a nuisance.

In the meantime, the Trust are working closely with the management at Robin Hood to secure a temporary arrangement that will facilitate better viewing from the public areas of the terminal or the immediate surroundings.

Please do not contact the airport during this interim period.

Many thanks.

The Vulcan team.
