Aviation Waffle / REQUEST FOR HELP ON STANDS FROM TPM
« on: May 30, 2017, 10:44:54 AM »
I have been asked if I know anyone who lives near the shows below who would be prepared to man a stand for The Peoples Mosquito. Bill Ramsey is one of the leading lights on the project and they have looked to us as having people who may have the experience to be able to help.

Duxford July 7-9  two needed

RIAT July 14-16 one for three days or three for one day each

East Kirkby August 5th two needed

Dunsfold August 26-27 two needed for two days

Scampton September 9-10 one needed for Sunday

Please have a think about it and see if you could do any of the days and let me know asap please. (Experience isn't really essential. Its man power needed and I can guarantee a great day/s out. It's a lot of fun but does need a lot of stamina. Well worth doing though)

PM or ask on here if I can help further.

Ways To Raise Funding / HANGAR DANCE IMPORTANT NOTICE
« on: March 23, 2015, 10:20:12 AM »
It is with great regret that the Vulcan to the Sky Club has to announce the cancellation of the Hangar Dance planned for 24th April.  The decision has been taken due to low ticket sales and the need to avoid further costs to the Club.

To those of you who have already bought tickets please accept our apologies.  Refunds will be made automatically from the webstore.

It is hoped that the event in some form will be rescheduled for later in the year.

Ways To Raise Funding / A Call to Arms?
« on: September 16, 2013, 10:49:55 AM »
I have just posted this on FB and on here. I apologise if this sounds a bit strong but we need to stand together now more than ever if we are to see 558 flying again. I for one will not let her last flight already have happened. Will you help now???
There is so much more to come.

Two important questions!

Do you seriously want to see XH558 fly for two more years?

If so, have you pledged or better still made a donation for her care and maintenance in the immediate future?

Many people answered the Trusts poll (12000 or more) but only a few thousand put their money where their mouth is (so to speak).
If all the people who said yes had put in a tenner that would be 120000+ in the kitty but there seem to be a lot of people who aren't prepared to put even £1 in sadly. We know its a very difficult time for many and we do understand that not everyone who wants to see 558 continue to fly will be able to put in a load of cash, but its not loads we are asking for. Its a little from loads of people.

It is possible even now that we could lose her. The Trust have never put the staff on a months notice willingly and without good reason. Its the last thing they would want to do but it looks ever more likely if we can't raise the rest of the money needed a) to do the mod but far more immediately b) the money needed to keep things going eg winter servicing, salaries for the engineers, hangar.

PLEASE donate even a little (or as much as you can afford) What would you give up to see XH558 fly next year?
Let us know if you like!
Price of a pint? 5 cigarettes? a video from Blockbusters? A Starbucks coffee? A double choc muffin? A magazine? A £3 text?

It is NOW we need to pull together so that next year we can go into a new flying season full of promise of another two years. The final flight will come soon enough but NOT YET!

Web Site Announcements / Bournemouth and Shoreham
« on: September 01, 2013, 01:46:17 PM »
It is with regret that we have to confirm that XH558 will not be at these shows today due to a fuel leak in one of the tanks.
She has so far this year not missed an event and it is extremely sad that she will not be at these shows, especially after all the work that Maggie and Team Bournemouth put in to get there there.

No-one is more upset than the engineers who have had to make the call on this today.

More news will be coming in the next few days I expect but for today there is no flight.
