I normally look for the smoke trails in the distance, heralding the arrival of 558, but on both the transit to Welshpool (14 thousand feet?) and display arrival i missed them.

Is it my imagination or is there less smoke than previous seasons?

I guess the flight profile has an effect, being more efficienet at higher altitudes and is the fuel usage less?

Very impressed with the slow spiral climb and wingovers ;D

Engineering / Wingover and a cup of tea!

After a discssion in another thread about wingovers and +ve G

If there was a cup of tea on the "dashboard" during the wingover then, I guess, the centripetal (there is no such thing as centrifugal) force would maintain the liquid level relative to the dash and none would be spilt :?:

Just read this (oldish) article on using the acoustic signature of a structure to detect the early development of cracks.

I would guess the system is very expensive, but could it be of use to 558?

Would these people like a "demonstration aircraft" :?:  ;)

An interesting explanation of the cancellation of Sundays display from Red 1 is given on their team news page:

Just goes to show how complex air displays are :o
