This picture was sent to me by one of our Local Radio Amateurs.

He is fairly certain it was taken at RAF Waddington.

Does anyone have any more information they can shed on it?

He has no idea which Vulcan it is, but he did think it had been on a bombing run to the Falklands so possibly XM607 ?

Not directly Vulcan related but contains some Falklands related material so might be of interest.

Tessa Dunlop reveals an untold story from the Falklands war, the desperate struggle to communicate the fateful message to sink the cruiser General Belgrano. How was the order to attack the Argentinian battleship somehow sent 8,000 miles to the submarine, HMS Conqueror, submerged deep underwater?

Could be worth a watch?

Ways To Raise Funding / Work in progress....need some help.

Not sure if we could turn this into a competition or not, but I'm working on something for this year, and I need a nice clear recording of the Vulcan Howl. More information once I have ironed out some of the details, but "watch this space"

Maybe if people have recording they can send to me (link to your online video would be sufficient initially), it would be appreciated, it will (of course) be used to help raise funds for XH558.

If there is sufficient numbers maybe we can arrange a "prize" for the one that gets chosen for this project?

Part of the programme "Jet! when Britain Ruled the skies"

Might be a repeat of course but nice to see 558 on the screen as always.

Two comments I really liked, "It sounds like someone tearing the sky apart" and "an elegant way of turning dinosaurs into sound".

Another good display by XH558.

Does anyone have a picture of XH558 in "Anti Flash White" that I can use (with permission of course) for this years QSL card for the Amateur Radio Special event? (To be announced once I have the paperwork from OFCOM hopefully later today)

I'm lookng to split the card into 4 (like postcards of old) and have the following sections...

Honouring the past
Inspiring the future
Operation 2015
Vulcan to the Sky (general)

Any help would be appreciated.

Recently aquired from a C130 Pilot....Ray Evans from 30 Squadron on a DVD he sent us of various stuff taken from his Hercules. ...

He seems to indicate that it is from one of the last ever (or the VERY last!) flights before XH558 left RAF service.

Maybe someone can recognise exactly when and were it is?

Its well worth a watch in any case.

XH558 Photo and Video Channel / Vulcan Pics taken from Concorde...

While at the MG 50th at Blenhiem palace we chatted to a guy who had taken some pictures of XH558 along side concorde....

his e-mail reads....

Here are 3 pics taken from Concorde G-BOAB on 23rd June 1991.  The afternoon was supposed to have seen the two British deltas formate in the vicinity of Stanstead, be filmed, then present themselves over an event taking place at North Weald.  The appalling weather put a stop to that, but thanks to the duty radar controller the 2 principals sort of got together.

Pics. 006 and 008 were quick snapshots taken through the flight deck side window LH, by myself; I was impeded by a chap with a pro, video camera - you can see the shape in the foreground, the 2 dots in 006 are window heat temperature sensors.  I don't know who was filming.  007 is framed by a cabin window.

These were taken in the days when cameras were loaded with film:  if you come across the reciprocal picture of us taken by the Vulcan crew, I wouldn't mind a copy.

Regards,    David Macdonald   (Flight Engineer).
