Thank you very much to the handful of people who have donated already :)

Aggy x

Hello friends, strangers and strange friends  ;)

Please forgive the intrusion but I hope this appeal will appeal (no pun intended) to many of you.

Since I gave up being fat, I have been running in races almost weekly (including my first half marathon in two weeks, eeeek) and it's very rare that I ask for sponsorship.

On 26th October I am running the 5 mile Poppy Run at Aldridge Airport in support of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal and hope I can use my slightly rusty Vulcanning skills to extract some funds from you towards this vital charity.

Thanks for looking

Aggy  :)

Hi all

I'm no longer a member of the Club so I don't frequent this board any more - in fact I can't post in most areas so thought I'd stick this in here!

Several of you were kind enough to sponsor me for today's 10k Race for Life in Sutton Park.

18 months ago I was so overweight that I was out of breath walking upstairs, and am pleased to say that, now 6 stone lighter, I completed the 10k today in a respectable 1hr 5 mins.

Thank you to everyone here who put their hands in their pockets to sponsor me. Thought I'd treat you to a picture of a red-faced me shortly after crossing the line!

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Aggy  :D

Easyjet A320 (or A319 one looks much like the other) plus 2 Thompson B737's  :)

Need Clives "sarcy smilie" here (you need to have spent some time @ RHADS to understand this!)

Just count the overwing exits, it's easy!

I'll get me anorak :D

Spotted Voyager ZZ331 doing a touch and go at EMA on Friday, spotted her through a 737 window so no pics!

Thanks Gregg. I kinda guessed that - Lol.
What I am after is the detail of the post numbers for each class.
e.g --- How many posts do I have to make, to escape from my  "newbie" status ?

Keep posting and you'll find out :D

as far as I know FR24 only shows the current track not the route & destination details.

You get the confirmed route, intended route, departure airport, arrival airport, height, speed, track, a photograph, vertical speed, registration, ModeS code, ETA, time to destinaton, distance to destination, lat/long, radar station and squark.

Unfortunately it doesn't always show you what the F/O had for dinner, but it is normally the chicken.

FR24 uses the SBS system and I have only ever identified one mis-placement which was a spurious reading of an Icarus shown in Scotland but was actually in the circuit at Barton. I use FR24 mobile as a spotting tool and it's normally dead right.

pete ;
The problem is that similar suggestions to this have been raised , discussed & dismissed as impractical or not cost-effective in the past.
There is a specific topic on here { } which lists many of the most oft-raised suggestions.
As for my "anti-flash white" comment { and no doubt JG's "camo" comment } , this was in response to the original "Blue Nose" suggestion --- after all , Vulcans have never been painted blue.
{ And I seem to recall seeing cars with "cammo-noses" a few years ago , but can't remember why ...... possibly something RAFAT /RAFCT did ?? }

Indeed, I suggested camo as I couldn't see a link between blue noses and 558. Camo would be more effective, especially considering the success of the camo wristbands.

However, they'd need to be rolled out at an airshows (to create the culture of "I've just seen another kid with a camo nose, where can I get one") and I imagine the OP's intention was for a campaign to be rolled out now. We'd struggle to roll out such a campaign at the moment, if we sold them to active forum members we'd sell about ten! And they probably come with a minimum order of 1000. As Gregg has suggested, with items like these the cost usually outweighs the benefit, particularly at a time when we don't have spare money to speculate with.

Those of us who posted non-serious comments are those (with the exception of a grumpy Welsh man who sits around fantasising about Kias  :D ) who have spent hours on the stand selling such items and have an instinct for what will sell (except with me and the cushions, which is never to be mentioned again).

Is that constructive enough for you, Pete?  :roll:

Your Team SCUM membership has expired. Do let us know if you wish to be re-inaugaurated, so Vulcanlover has time to order the pineapple and the studded maracas... :D
