Ways To Raise Funding / Re: Wall of Honour
« on: November 19, 2015, 02:12:16 PM »
Club members WILL be included (so long as the Trust has the list), and it will also be available online for checking and for posterity.

Bear in mind, it is names only, no location or anything else.

You will not need to go to Doncaster, but the thought is there...
Much more to come on this soon.

Hi Tim,

If you are thinking of volunteers who have given their time, then yes, I think that is also the plan.
It is a list of names and nothing more... and there will be time for people to check, or for others to write in and say that perhaps, 'such and such' deserves to be on.

As it mentions, it's a bit of a mammoth task...

The Trust has to have a record, so do send in a cheque for £1 now with your name and address (or any other amount) if you feel you might have been missed! ;-)

There are no plans to make the list in any format of the amount given. That would be unfair and is against the spirit that everyone made it happen - every £ just as valuable as the next.
That was a common theme in the appeals and it remains that way.

It also gives a chance to honour all those who have regularly paid by direct debit or standing order and never got the benefit of some of the incentive schemes like a Bomb-bay name.

Although it might create a few more donations, as Sam has said, that was never the aim.  (You do give me an newsletter feature idea though......)

Ways To Raise Funding / Re: Publicity Downloads?

Afraid the web store e-commerce software was taken over by another company and their system does not support downloads. Bear with a short while and we will sort something on the website you can copy / download.

Need to finish the '558' book as a priority....

A post especially for Andy.

XH558 will be able to be seen in HD throughout the country, tonight, 7.30pm BBC1 HD - (HD ONLY)

It is a regional 'Inside-Out' programme, but the regions take it in turn to broadcast on the HD channel.  This is the Leeds based 'Look North' team who have been really supportive.

(Wonder how that all got organised..... ?????  ;-)

We will be posting across social media later to advise supporters and I'm sure viewing figures (and exposure of XH558) will be healthier as a result!

There is a postal mailing on all this with the printers.... Online is set to start next week, just ahead of its arrival and it looks like some very positive news in other areas might just be about to break.

I can say no more on the matter right now, but be assured your concerns 'on the bigger picture' are being addressed and the future looks bright (not orange), but Delta inspirational shaped and one or two other things .... and NO, NOT CONCORDE!!

I'll look into it again for you....

The crew today will try to slot it in after Bruntingthorpe, but there can be no promises as it is towards the end of a complex route and as ever, it depends on many factors like fuel remaining and ATC clearance.

Facebook and Twitter posts later to advise ....

Please remember, everyone tries their very best and do not deserve a lot of the negativity out there in Internet land. It is a VERY complex job to make sure anything like this goes smoothly.

Pam is correct in saying it was not our place to publicise the meeting, else it might not have even happened!

As it was, the map released at 11.15am showed XH558 over Coningsby a good three hours before it happened. Many obviously missed the clues, but particularly the fact the draw of announcing this spectacle too early would just have moved one problem to another location.

Later this week (about now I'd guess), she will be lifted up off the ground in the hangar after the necessary inspections/repairs, then the team will commence many test cycles to ensure all is well.

Bit like this, but without the audience!
