Aviation Waffle / A Big THANK YOU
« on: April 26, 2011, 10:37:13 PM »
To everyone who has visited and supported XH558 at RHA these last few days. It has been a very positive and enjoyable experience meeting so many happy locals and members and everyone else.

Today has been especially happy with our girlie taking to the skies again and putting a smile on the faces of crew and visitors alike.  :D  :D

There is still a long way to go to be certain of a successful flying season ahead but with the support and friendship shown by members, friends and supporters we can get there!!

THANK YOU ALL :D

Jane and Malcolm

You have to do a bit of searching to find the cockpits but there are lots of other panorama pics too which are quite interesting.

Ways To Raise Funding / Lincoln Christmas Market
« on: August 09, 2010, 12:48:22 PM »
Yes its that time again.
I am looking for volunteers for this event and need to know if anyone needs accommodation.
Start thinking now and pm or email me asap.  :D

Bit more time today to add a few details.
Market is for 4 days  2nd to 5th of December.
It runs from 4 till 9.30 on thursday, 10.00 till 9.30 on friday and saturday and 10.00 till 7.00 on sunday.

This is a major fundraiser for us when we have no aircraft and airshows, and this will be our third year. Last year many people were searching for us so it will be expected that we will be there again. Unfortunately we are in a different place again (third time we have moved) but hopefully we can find ways of letting people know where we are this time. We sell merchandise but also spread the word and pass on information about 558, and hopefully also have some special visitors from the crew too.

If you would like to help for all or part of this event please let me know.
Things to consider are...
This isnt an airshow on a nice or otherwise summer day. It can be very cold and wet and the days are long and very busy.
You will be asked to dress in victorian costume and I can supply this for most people (you are welcome to wear your own but do think about the weather). This is a request of the organisers and it does make the event special.
You can do one, two or all of the days but they are long days working through into the night.
We would appreciate it if some people would volunteer for set up after lunch on thursday but especially break down on sunday night.

Having said all that, this is a fabulous event and well worth the effort that goes into it. There are world wide visitors pouring into Lincoln for 4 days and the atmosphere in the evenings especially is tremendous, when everything is lit up and bustling.

If you would like to put your name down for this please contact me either pm or email  jane.thomas @vulcantotheskyclub.co.uk

I especially need to know if anyone needs accommodation booked as Lincoln is already fully booked everywhere year on year for this period.

It is hard work but great fun too, so come and join us. If you dont fell you can do the show, come and visit the market and bring us a gluewein as you pass us!!!  :D
