Ways To Raise Funding / Re: Funding the new hangar - how?
« on: October 12, 2017, 03:02:32 PM »
Seen this today.
"Vulcan to the Sky Trust spokesman Richard Clarke said the scheme would not be able to move forwards until an investor was in place, and the trust was currently actively looking for that investor.

The trust is also currently raising funds from the public towards the costs.

He said: "We would like to think when planning permission comes forward we could move forward as soon as possible. That is the aspiration and we wanted to start the ball rolling by putting the planning application in..

"We would like to be looking at starting next year, but it is difficult to put a date on it.."

Thought they had got the money for the hangar, so that is why they put in the planning application.

Edited to amend article link.

Leave the cockpit and engineering area as they are.
The general public aren't going to see it.

Nothing showing on Doncaster Council's website regarding the planning application.
Maybe it hasn't been entered online yet.

Planning application has been submitted and could take up to 10 weeks for the council to make their decision.

From today's newsletter.

Just seen this on the Vulcan XH558's Facebook page.

"Just received the latest guardian news letter and I see that the proposed site for the new hangar has great crested newts won't that now cause significant problems getting planning permission?"

I thought the next lot of names would go onto a plaque on a wall. (I think I read that in a distant newsletter, or did I dream it).  Or has that changed due to them no longer having a hangar to put the aircraft in.  Will anyone go and see XH558 in her new hangar?
Names on Bomb Bay Doors are OK, the 'grafitti' by Jacqui & Dee under the wing is OK, but not to spoil the appearance of the camouflage of the aircraft for a few pounds to have your name on the aircraft.  (Only my opinion).

Sorry for the people who are no longer part of the Vulcan.
Thank you to them for their passionate work with the aircraft over the years.

Who will go to see her next year when they start public tours again?
They might get a few, but not many, I bet. (My thoughts only)

Thank you very much for the flypast.

Was looking forward to seeing the Queens Flypast Practice today.
They totally missed where I was :(  :(.
My only view of the flypast was the grey smudge in the distance :(  :(.
