Just seen this on the Vulcan XH558's Facebook page.

"Just received the latest guardian news letter and I see that the proposed site for the new hangar has great crested newts won't that now cause significant problems getting planning permission?"

I thought the next lot of names would go onto a plaque on a wall. (I think I read that in a distant newsletter, or did I dream it).  Or has that changed due to them no longer having a hangar to put the aircraft in.  Will anyone go and see XH558 in her new hangar?
Names on Bomb Bay Doors are OK, the 'grafitti' by Jacqui & Dee under the wing is OK, but not to spoil the appearance of the camouflage of the aircraft for a few pounds to have your name on the aircraft.  (Only my opinion).

Sorry for the people who are no longer part of the Vulcan.
Thank you to them for their passionate work with the aircraft over the years.

Who will go to see her next year when they start public tours again?
They might get a few, but not many, I bet. (My thoughts only)

Thank you very much for the flypast.
First time seeing her fly since 2 July 2011 at RAF Waddington.

Was looking forward to seeing the Queens Flypast Practice today.
They totally missed where I was :(  :(.
My only view of the flypast was the grey smudge in the distance :(  :(.

Any more news on this yet? Guessing its quite a bit more than an engine change.

Lancaster update
Good evening here is a a brief post about the progress on the repairs after the problem with the number four engine. As you can appreciate I cannot give you all the details but it is not simply an engine change. There is fire damage to the nacelle panels, engine bearer and associated systems. All this will take time to assess, repair or replace. We hope to have her flying again this year but at this moment we can not say when. Paul B
Hope this is what you were after Garry.

At about 12 noon today, over Spalding, was a 2 engine jet (refuelling) followed by a 4 engine jet followed by 2 x F15s. They were heading North or North East.  No idea of big jet types.

Were they actually together or just followed on ?
The 2 F15s were flying side by side, and following the 2 big jets.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance landed just near me to deal with a 2 vehicle RTA. Air Ambulance was not needed. Photos of the aircraft taken with permission of a police officer. Stood 30 metres from the aircraft when it took off.  It bowed to us before leaving.
