No work today Rushy?

I went to press day last year and virtually nothing happened - gave up and went to Eastbourne. A think a Vulcan flying at press day would be a good idea.  ;)

Been watching all the ins and outs at Shoreham throughout the day, and I thought work was  going to be a boring place. :D

Stopped in Swindon overnight Wednesday into Thursday so we could visit Longleat, which is a fair old trek from here.

After we'd eaten on Wednesday evening, we decided to have a look around the local area, which seemed preferable to going back to the hotel and watching the TV!  So, we headed towards Wootton Bassett, and then onto Lynham.  I was quite surprised, given that it was about 8pm, to find a Hercules doing circuits.  We were on a very narrow lane to the right beyond the main entrance.  I fancied tying to get over to the other side under the flightpath or thereabouts, but it landed soon afterwards.  Claimed a minor victory though...got my wife to an airfield watching aeroplanes!  Never thought I'd see the day!  The only slightly unfortunate thing was the '558 was there and due to depart for Marham the following day, when we were at Longleat.  So near, yet so far...I did wonder if any of the fins we could see in the distance might be hers, but it was dusk and difficult to tell.

Our route home took us by Kemble.  I was quite impressed to see a nice white 747 parked right next to the road.  In fact, I wish now I'd stopped for a photo.

[center:2aejxu8w]'558[/center:2aejxu8w]

OK, so we were at the end of the runway to welcome her back to her summer home ... where was everyone else? Not even Cluny, bunking off work early  :!:  :?:  :)

(So, colour and centre worked ... seems a bigger font is beyond my techie skills!)
