Just had a mini WWII flypast in Lancing/Shoreham.
Not quick enough to see what they were until they were far away but they sounded GREAT!

Merlin flying VERY low but unusually quiet across the front of our house in Abbeymead, Gloucester. Heading North directly towards the City.

That Merlin has just gone back on the reciprocal course, still very low and reasonably quiet. Very curious!

1520 this afternoon a Hunter accompanied by another aircraft passed over, not too high but obviously on the way into Fairford.
The accompanying aircraft was Delta shaped, not sure what it is but if I didn't know better I would have said it was a Fairey Delta!

Anyone know what it was?

EDIT NOTE - Talking to some 'Friends of RIAT' blokes at the Jet Age Museum this evening and they reckon that Delta aircraft was a Tornado with it's wings swept right back. Could have been, a bit too high for me to be sure.

WOW WOW WOW - Around 1920'ish a Tornado did a very low beat up of Staverton (Gloucestershire Airport) airfield.

Where was I when I saw this? - I was up in XM569, heard the noise and dashed up the ladder to the pilot level and caught sight of the back end of it through the windshield as it tore across the airfield. Brilliant sight.

Tucano doing some nice manoeuvres over Derwentwater and a pair of Hawks going hell-for-leather over Bassenthwaite today. Also saw an Osprey there too - not the rotor plane thingy, a real one 8)
