Emirates Airbus A380, all around me!
« Reply #2355 on: May 28, 2015, 11:05:11 AM »
..............all around me in the sense that I was inside it. Went to New Zealand and flew on four different ones, got two visits to flight decks after landings and a guided tour round the upper deck, how posh is that - wait for this, showers and a jacuzzi.

Whilst out yesterday for my Birthday at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, what appeared to be a 2 seater Spit flew over the Round Tower and buzzed the area, not sure what the occasion was though...

Just had an AH1 Apache fly over our house, heading NW, so possible going back to Middle Wallop.

Couple of B52s over the house at 5pm, heading south-ish so probably off to Fairford.

Strange configuration there, She's got a Weapons Pylon between engines 2 & 4 .. but not between 1 & 3 !
that must mess up the flight dynamics a tad !

Was looking forward to seeing the Queens Flypast Practice today.
They totally missed where I was :(  :(.
My only view of the flypast was the grey smudge in the distance :(  :(.

Last Sunday I was playing trains at Sheffield Park.  Looked up and saw some silvery dots in a v-shape and wondered why I'd see five aircraft at that sort of height.  Then saw there were four in another v just behind.  Suspicion was confirmed when I checked up and discovered the Reds were in transit to Tours.  No camera to hand, but a fellow forum member also bore witness.....  we sometimes see the pass at low level, but never that high before!

Runnymede flypast, that Typhoon along with a Spitfire in formation following the Red Arrows, coming across meadow at right angles. (five minutes exactly later, got the smell of the smoke/kerosene at ground level)

King John would have been impressed.
