Spotted loads this week.

A pair of Pumas heading across the Solent from an Odiham type direction in a Bournemouth type direction (bet the chaps in Poole were pleased to see them)

On Monday as I made my wet and weary way down the A34 I spotted four Challenger 2 and an AVRE on transporters just South of Newbury (sorry is it just meant to be stuff in the air?)
I'll never give up on the dream!

A truly exciting day here in the Shire!! Mid-morning 2 Red Arrows right over my house and later, after much enquiring on FB Mac confirmed the strange looking thing that flew around my village was indeed a 727 Oil response thingy going into Finningley

Bit late (as usual)

I saw a pair of Red Kites while out for a walk with the dog on Saturday.

Just down the Road from Old Alresford in Hampshire (wonder if that is as far South as they have got now)

Also spotted a Chinook and a Wren - but neither of those were as unusual as the Kites!

I'm living near the Southern border of the Brecon Beacons Park, Red Kites are so numerous here they blot out the sun, (although they don't do it quite as well as the 'Aluminum Eclipse' used to)!

Seriously, this is a fantastic bird & they've made a great comeback from the edge of extinction in the UK. With high numbers, competition for territory / food, they're apparently spreading into new territories.

They do spread but very slowly apparently but we are beginning to see brief glimpses of them in the east Midlands now which is great. We did watch one over Brunty a couple of years ago too. It will be great to see more of them as long as they leave our Derby peregrines alone!
