Singapore Airlines A.380 9V-SKF (operating SIA 317) just went overhead me at Rayne (about 12miles east of Stansted) heading east out of Heathrow, bit lower than usual flights from LHR, got a nice view of it with the sun on it, almost overhead, shame I didnt have my camera ready

In addition to the usual AWACs, KC-135s, RC-135s, and C-130s there's been a Paraglider taking advantage of a comparatively nice day weather-wise.

I'm a couple of miles north of Pewsey in Wiltshire, and we regularly have about a dozen various choppers a day passing over fairly low. But a couple of times a week we get buzzed by Apaches, and occasionally a Herc, at tree top level.

Does anyone know where they they are from?

Isn't it Boscombe Down?  A few years ago for work I had to visit one of our people who worked from home, and has was at East Chisenbury.  The number of Hercs that went over a literally just a few hundred feet was staggering.  The whole house shook!  I swear you could have waved to the crew...

Boscombe isn't far. I did wonder if the Apaches were from Tidworth.

This was spotted at 15:28 today over the railway station in Spalding, Lincolnshire.  Hope someone can identify it.  Cannot quite make out whether the 4th letter is a 'D' or an 'O'.  It seems to have a checkered flag on the tail and a bit on the wings.
