Jet Age Museum, Gloucester
« on: March 12, 2011, 11:19:25 PM »
Had a couple of hours with the courtesy of the regional co-ordinator for the Gloucestershire area (Damaris Tapp). Thanks Damaris, it was an incredibly interesting discussion and tour of the workshop where the engineers are building a Gamecock and and E28 (Whittles first jet testbed).
Looks like the museum is heading for a permanent location at Staverton (Gloucestershire) airport just outside of Gloucester city itself.

John Lewer, Chairman of the Jet Age organisation, flew as a tech navigator in Valiants, Vulcans and a variety of other aircraft before becoming a pilot himself, gave us a great summary of the history of the museum, the aircraft that are currently available and what the future hopes and aspirations are.
