March waterfall at Cranwell was 1.5cm the previous lowest recording was 5.5cm and we still haven't had any rainfall yet!!! We'll be on hose pipe ban soon  :o

558 will be fine, she has her cockpit cover if required.

And like a car ,if you put it away in a garage wet then you are asking for corrosion to set in,outside in the drying air this will be far less likely and in my opinion the same counts for 558,she will be well aired outside with no chance of water ingress into all those nooks and crannies.

I'd hazard a guess that '558 has been stood outside for far more of her life than tucked away in a hangar. Okay, no doubt she used to fly more often in service to empty out the water, but this year is no different to the previous few: if anything, it's drier!

I understand she went into 3 hangar yesterday. Is this her permanent abode now or is it just for some servicing that's due?

Now that is a BIG ask.

Due to the location I personally doubt that it would be allowed. Be great if it was though.

Is this the one with the aviation academy at one end ?

Coz I was talking to a guy from FODSA (he did a Concorde tour last September & I remembered him !!) who says that the other end was cluttered with cr*p and has been cleared out and the floor recovered in the last few weeks. Also it has a nice cafe :-)

Sounds promising then.

If they partition the cafe/hangar with a glass wall then everyone can see what's going on.
Could be something of a feature me thinks.
