definitely worth checking:

Cold War Jets at Bruntingthorpe, a statement on our operations.

Following various requests for details, we would like to clarify what will be happening during XH558's presence at the Cold War Jets Day at Bruntingthorpe on Sunday 29th May.

We now understand that the crowd will be repositioned away from the runway on Sunday afternoon so as to meet our safety requirements, so subject to this and other safety conditions being fulfilled, we will be able to take off on the Sunday with the crowd present.

On the day, Vulcan to the Sky Club Members will receive a £5 discount off the admission price and also be entitled to a free aircraft tour (subject to availability) on production of a valid membership card. A charge will apply to all non-members.

just need that ash to stay away now!

By VALID we will accept "valid to 01-Mar-11" onwards or proof of payment on the day........nothing before that

Hello All,

Just a word on the plans for XH558 Tours at CWJ, so you will know what to expect.

As the aircraft will now be prepared for departure, probably from around 3pm, we only have 6 hours maximum (9am-3pm) to get the best part of perhaps 4,000 people through to see underneath XH558.

We will not be doing the normal guided tours, as most of you will certainly know by heart the content of the standard speeches, so we will concentrate on getting parties of about 40/50 people through a dedicated entrance into the compound surrounding the aircraft. These will be rotated every 10 minutes, with a fresh party being readied as the previous one views.

Look for the XH558 TOURS sign to the left of the Vulcan Village, right next to where she will be parked.  A small donation towards the current Appeal is requested from the public, while Club Members can gain access (subject to availability/queue) free of charge on production of a valid membership card. (A tub for any donations will obviously be available too!)

Good viewing of the aircraft can be made from immediately in front, to the one side and the rear, if you are not too worried about getting actually underneath and really close, so do pop over to see us and please be understanding of the situation if it's very busy.

All our Vulcan Village staff are fellow Club Members and volunteers - there to help the day go as smoothly as possible.

Remember, after the last fast taxi, (subject to the usual caveats of weather and serviceability) you will be asked to move further back by marshalls and there will then be a FOD check along the runway before XH558 is towed from her parking position to the end of the runway, where she will continue her starting procedures.

Thank you.

Regards,
Ian

Lets hope that pesky wind doesn't upset them again.
