Thanks Sam

Linda, Blanche and the rest of the Welsh ladies were in fine form, but there comes a time when the other lady in my life can't be ignored, so it was a quick dash back over here Sunday afternoon for her final fling :D

Oh and Correne ? Well she's back in the kitchen making the chicken and gammon pies ;)

Hi everyone.

558 came out for a breath of fresh air yesterday (26th Jan) and to blow a few cobwebs out of her engines. Here's a selection of photos taken by Clive Featherstone of 558's outing..................

Updated the Gallery with photos from yesterdays test flight. Apologies for the poor quality of some shots, the weather was horrendous at times.........that's my excuse anyway!

Great pics as always Jim,

Anyone know who the idiot being dragged around the airfield is?

Got to say 558 does look fantastic in those pictures (even given the 8/8th cloud and general British murkiness) Still @ least we did not paint her White, cos then she would really blend into the background  ;)

Very pleased with the results of this winters efforts (now all we need is enough money to get us through to next winter)

 :D

Thanks Sam..........Word was you were testing the Evans MkII booster cushion   :D

It was a shame about the weather, I was really hoping to get some good topside shots of her gleaming new coat, Steve and you guys have put so much effort into it, a few rays of sunshine would have been the 'icing on the cake' ..........Hopefully next time!

No 22 certainly show how busy it was.  Was this at the south end of the runway?:-

That's High Common Lane which as you summised runs across the south end of the airfield, it always looks like that when the Vulcan flies. The only other occasion when there was traffic chaos was acouple of years ago when another unique aircraft arrived, the Antonov An225..................
