Crowd Collections

With these enormous crowds that come to look at the aircraft are we allowed to put people on the streets and at air shows collecting it is a registered charity ......

Unfortunately most shows and events do not allow collecting anywhere but on your own stand and it's immediate area.

And if I remember correctly when this was discussed previously { on the old Forum } .... by law , you would need some sort of license to carry out street collections.
I know that collections outside supermarkets was also mentioned , but I can't remember the legalities of that either.

Yes you need to apply for a street collector's licence from the local council.

I looked into this during the Pledgeaton last year, and although the licence is free of charge, there was a 6-page application form and you had to submit, amongst other things, a copy of the charity's accounts.

It was deemed "not worth the hassle" and we went ahead taking pledges only, not cash donations.

That is a shame i know it would take some logistic's take the Bournmouth flypast with number's in the street's   with the right people collecting these thing's are allways a difficult choice thank's for the replies
