This was today... wall to wall sunshine first thing this morning  :D

VV can be seen in the foreground

Hopefully the weather should be good for the weekend, and VV get many more visitors.

Almost everyone weve encountered so far has been tolerant and understanding of Vulcans non appearance. I personally had one 'muppet' having a bit of a rant that she always manages to go U/S for Bournemouth. Pity that he happened to be standing next to an ex Vulcan Nav at the time - who put him in his place a bit....   . Said 'muppet' moped off still grumbling - but a bit more quieter.

Another odd weekend at Bournemouth.

Vulcan Village was in an amazing position and with a "busload" of amazing volunteers. I would like to thank all those people who dealt with it, manned (womaned and "childed" it) and that included those who busy in the background transporting items, and looking after those volunteers, all to keep XH558 in the air, thank you all.

We have some video of the Thursday monsoon which you would not believe - The Junglies Sea King over the pier in the middle of the downpour was bonkers. Sorry for rubbish update but after chucking the (much loved) vulcan hoodlums out from home today we got our internet connection fixed after a six day outage. Grr....

Updates tomorrow when I've sorted the photos and removed the sand from our bathroom  :D

Just a little bit of rain...

Crew of "HMS Vulcan Village" sans lifejackets. (Phil managed to not be in this one!)

Andy's Star Wars gang were very popular!

Before the crowds showed up..

Darth offering photo opportunities for a suitable donation..

VV had a constant stream of visitors for the three days that had decent weather. We were trying to figure out how many people actually passed through - Anyone want to hazard a guess? (At peak times there was a queue to get in)

A visit from Sam and a very fast growing up Josh..

Vid to follow once I get it from Mags..

Cheers,

Bryan

Glad Andys' stormtrooper idea was well received to help raise publicity.

Thanks for the pics Bryan  :)

A great team effort and well done to all on an excellent weekend, only marred of course by the sad news on Red Four.
We did completely shut down the Village for 10 minutes to honour the silence and having spent some takings on Reds' merchandise in the RAF Village, adding in our dedicated sales on Sunday, we will have easily contributed £100 towards the memorial fund set up for Jon Egging.

Let's aim for more helpers next year as we need to do shifts to capture the trade during 6pm and 10pm when the beach front was heaving with people for the night flying and fireworks.

Once again, well done to Phill in pulling all the local volunteers together. The Star Wars characters and the Dorset Tea promotion also added to a great family atmosphere.

Well done all.

Glad 'Team Bournemouth' were able to help out...I'm glad so say that most members of our 'mottly crew' volunteered to do a stint in VV over the duration.

Hopefully next year 'TB' may have expanded a bit more to be able to include a shift rota. (Will cross that bridge when we come to it  ;) )

My personal thanks to all the gang on duty over the 4 days at Bournemouth. Nice to meet new people and catch up with friends and familiar faces.

Look foward to doing it all again 2012..... maybe we can have a flying Vulcan next time
