thank you to everybody who entered the photo competition
« on: November 05, 2011, 11:27:23 PM »
I've finished collating all the entries ready for the judges' scores and in total there have been 292 entries (corrected form earlier figure), thanks to everybody for your excellent contributions and good luck with your photos.

If my spreadsheet is correct (and I tihnk it is now), the total raised excluding gift aid is £543, if that is subject to gift aid it raises the total to £679, thank you to everybody who entered and good luck in the competition

Watch out for the forum poll for round 2 of voting next weekend once the judges have returned their votes for round 1

Actually I think it's us that should be thanking you for running it.

Thanks Andy.  :)

I whole heartedly concur.
Now if there's a rather large image of a Vulcan flying low throught the Grand Canion in next years competition then everyone will know where that came from

Well done Andy

many thanks but it would be pointless me running it if all you people out there didnt enter it as that's where the fund raising part of it comes from, there is of course the other part of it in that it gets us sharing our photos and attracts new visitors to the forum, I think a few signed up just to enter the competition - these little spin offs all help if only with awareness.

Unfortunately although it appears a good figure the amount raised is only about 0.15% of the total required so we need to think of some more ideas quickly. I posted an idea about sponsoring the engines' journey from Hinckley to Doncaster the other day, something that people can give as much or as little to as the feel they either want to or can afford if the share idea is beyond their pocket. I will put something in the pot to that effect soon - after payday as the Vulcan has eaten into quite a bit of my income in the last month - don't tell the wife please!
