Dunsfold Vulcan Village

I thought I would just say "Thanks" to those who manned The Village and Club Enclosure for us at the weekend.

And throughout the year at all locations. :)

And those who womanned it too.... :p

I used to do shows many years ago, but they were indoors and you could usually manage to sit down for a bit every now and then.  Outside shows are something I've never done before, and I expected to ache a bit after my modest stint on Sunday, but everything was killing me by lunchtime.  I've always thought that those doing the stand were hardy souls, but my respect for the regulars has gone up even more as a result of the experience of the last couple of weekends.  On Sunday, the stand finally closed at approx 7pm.  My back is still killing me, and I didn't even have to suffer Monday or the packing up in the evening!

Can I add a big 'Thanks' to the Dunsfold Vulcan Village team. My family & I ( The 2 parents & 3 kids in matching 558 On Tour T-Shirts) were made very welcome throughout the day. The members enclosure was excellent & added an unexpected bonus to a really great day on the Monday.

Thanks again, always great to meet fellow members & share the amazing experience that is 558 'In Flight'.

The 5 'Todds on Tour' Anne, Mark, Bethany (10), Harrison (6) & Lily (2).

All hooked on 558! Lyneham, Yeovilton, Faiford, Shoreham, Dunsfold & counting in 2010.

A rather belated, but much needed thanks to everyone in the Vulcan Village who 'initiated and assimilated' me into the throngs of a volunteer at both Shoreham and Dunsfold.  :D  :D

I won't mention names - you all know who you are.  ;)

Many thanks guys and gals and let's hope we can do the same and have as much fun next year.

Pickle button. n. - the small button (usually red) on the control column of a fighter jet which when pressed, launches missiles. So called because missiles resemble the shape of a pickle (gherkin).

The Vulcan Village will be there together with enclosure. This year is the larger version of the Village approx 10m x 15m  with side extensions but overall smaller than the mega village. Full team in place but don't forget to calll in an see us - I'm sure you won't :D
