Fire Drill
« on: March 28, 2012, 06:25:29 PM »
whilst at 230 OCU it was decided to have a fire drill. The idea was to move the aircraft out of the hangar without the use of the tractor. I belive this exercise was being filmed? When the fire bell was rung the whole shift was to exit the crew room for the hangar, connect up two tow ropes to the main undercarriage. The ropes stored at the fire points in the hangar were quite long and heavy on their own. Once connected we were to pull the a/c out of the hangar. It was impossible with the man power available so more man power was drafted in we still could not move it. A tractor was called and we just ended up assisting. I don't remember ever trying the exercise again or seeing the film
