Pickle button. n. - the small button (usually red) on the control column of a fighter jet which when pressed, launches missiles. So called because missiles resemble the shape of a pickle (gherkin).

Actually.........the "new" Vespas as used by the 'Arrows for their LE to JO'G trip have four stroke engines!
The "classic" Vespas had two-stroke engines, but were discontinued a year-or-so ago.
1000 miles in four days on a (Classic) Vespa?.........no problem!.............me and SWMBO did that sort of thing regularly in the 1960's - and loaded with camping gear, too!! Pretty useful for "Vulcan-watching" at Waddington and Scampton back then as well!
Happy Days.
Regards
Paul
