Sam you guys deserve better than this. I know the future of XH558 and all you engineers is inextricably linked but when I donate (and I am about to do so now) it is you guys/gals I have foremost in mind.

Indeed.  It's all too easily forgotten that if we lose the Vulcan, the brilliant team who look after her will fall apart too  :( .  Ah well, I guess we have to be as positive as possible for now.  It's not all over yet  ;) .

That's why I supply Jaffa Cakes as well as money.  Got to *try* and keep the morale of the lads up a little bit.  I know I'd be constantly on a downer if I was always staring down the barrel of yet another notice period!

Fully agree.

If it wasn't for the engineers - Vulcan would NOT fly at all. We all need to help out - if not only for Vulcan - but for them too. I certainly will be lobbing some money into the pot  :D

Exactly.

For those who say she belongs at Bruntingthorpe, let's just keep her where she belongs for the time being and that's in the sky.  When she's out of flying hours and CAA approved engine cycles then you can get your grubby mitts on her and give her a good retirement  :D

Precisely. It amazes me how upbeat, resilient and dedicated the team remain (and not just the engineers incidentally) when you consider they've been put on notice virtually every year since 2006! Also says something for 558 and her supporters that the threat has been countered every time too - lets keep that record going  :D

Too true!! I just think that the apparently endless slagging off that the Trust and its supporters get from certain 'so-called' aviation lovers forums just spurs the Club on to dig deeper every time. One thing we Brits have in spades is Bloodymindedness.

Clarkson might have 'come out' in support of the VTTS Club and its aim but he is sadly wrong in his description of the stereotypical Vulcan supporter.. Most PR agencies would die for a client with such a broad demographic base as that which populates this Club forum. How many ladies are there on PPrune,FighterControl,UKAR,Key, etc etc and you only have to look at photos of the VV. Not an anorak in sight.

Getting back (more or less) on topic. Donating now is more about about PEOPLE. Engineering people whom we know and respect. Admin people, with families, who are working hand to mouth just to  give us what we want.

A viable flying Vulcan.

Given the constant stories of handbags flying around on other forums, my guess is quite a lot....

We recived official confirmation from the wheels at the top of the MOD yesterday that RAF Lyneham would be delighted to host the Vulcan for yet another Winter Servicing period.  So after todays flight, we will be landing at Lyneham and putting the aircraft in the hangar sometime next week.
