A huge thank you
« on: April 27, 2012, 12:20:32 AM »
Just like to say thank you very much to all of you.

Without your pounds and pennies we could not have done it.

Especially Without your help with "polishing" we could not have done it.  No names, no pack drill, you know who you are.  I know you've had a great time and you know you've had a good time helping but I would like to say without you we would have not been able to do it.

A good friend of mine sent me this today, I hope she does not mind me posting it here.

Must say that today was one of the biggest "highs" I have ever had.  Today and that picture was all our own work  :D

Finally I would like to say thank you for the Jaffa cakes as without them we would definitely not have been able to do it!

Sam, that picture does indeed sum it all up, and yes, people do try to help , but we are the ones who should say thank you, as without such a brilliant team of dedicated engineers, there would be NO aircraft in the air, 558 is a very lucky lady indeed to have you   :D  :D

I think the biggest THANKS should go to all the engineers, without your skills, commitment and sheer hard work we wouldn't have a flying Vulcan.

Well done to all of you for a successful flight yesterday, you should all feel proud and rightly so!

Fantastic. Well done. Brilliant. A heart warming sight. If Vulcaning was an Olympus (ouch) sport - it would be gold medals all round.

Thank you for getting our National Treasure back into the skies again this year. One cannot comprhend how much work (and the dreaded paperwork) that had to be done to achieve this momentous occasion. Well done to our gifted ground crew. You are awesome !!
Regards, Graeme.

I must apologise to Jim Calow for miss spelling his name (too many l's)

Here is a link to his excellent site with more of his great pictures from yesterday.

http://finningleygallery.smugmug.com/XH ... &k=zM8wMLm

Jim is another of those who have been helping to prepare the surface for painting - and despite his constant pleading we are not going to paint her white!

Once more thank you all for your help, it's nice to be appreciated.
