Same sort of thing as when you paint a 'proper' boat then { one constructed from wood or steel } , namely avoiding getting paint on the radio aerial.
Then again , that was using good old red lead primer & lead-based paint ........think it was something to do with the paint altering the frequency band of the aerial {?}

Guess it needs a new "cammo green" gel-coat !!  :lol:

My left thumb is still sore from Wednesday the week before last :-)

Great job. As Sam says the guy doing the painting is a hero. The detail on the nose which had to be done before the 1st flight was beautiful.

Even though it's still not an 'authentic' scheme, I really like it. For me, display aircraft like this and the Sea Vixen just look better in a gloss finish and it should look good for longer.

She's looking amazing - can't wait to see her "in the flesh"   :D

Well done to everyone who has got her looking like this. I'm only sorry that due to work commitments, I haven't been able to help out.  Hopefully there'll be opportunities during this season to help with keeping her look so good!

Can someone point out to the tool Dan o'h that we did not pay for the treatment.

You could also point out that it was working perfectly before we removed it to improve the finish to the extent that he can now complain the jet is "too shiny!"

He really does have major problems with the Vulcan, wonder if that is because the trust would not promote his book.

He's written a book ??!!  :o
What's it called....."How I went from being a football reporter to a forum moderator & expert airshow commentator" , or "How I spent all day as a commentator at RIAT endlessly repeating that 'there's a dog in a car !' " ??  :P  :lol:

There are times when I've thought he was acting as an 'agent provocateur' to try and elicit a response , but usually I think that he's just trying to live up to his forum avatar !  ;)

To be fair, apart from that post by Dan whatsit, all others were very complimentary and happy to see 558 in the air again. Methinks we should just ignore the chap, he wont like it  :lol:
