But are you all not wanting to know where the possibilities are that the trust has been in negotiation with then :?: (
Yes, but that doesn't mean I have the right to know before the matter is finally settled, especially since there are all the sensitivites already mentioned  :)

How about alongside her sister XM655 at Wellesbourne, or would that be ruled out as there is no hanger :(

Oooh, wouldn't that be nice  :)  ... if there was a hangar and if there was a bit of a longer (and wider) runway.  :(  Not sure CAA would even allow her to get in these days, she'd would certainly never get out!   :o  Trapped - the 655 MaPS guys could reclaim the bits that have been lent over the years.  ;)

Wicked sense of humour Katie ;)  ;)

I suppose if their was hangerage, then that would/could be an ideal location for her final home then.............. ;)

How much can we and MAPS get one built for........... :D

OK guys - let's speculate. We're talking about final resting place, not next summers operational home.
Requirements are somewhere to preserve her as a long term safe exhibition place, fully accessible to the public & ideally under cover. Does she have to keep running ? I suspect yes, so there needs to be a runway & no plans to dig it up or close the field.
Brunty must come into the frame, Wellesbourne if she can get in - Wellesbourne makes support easy as engineering could be shared, same argument for Southend I suppose.
I favour Coventry as part of Air Base - their aim is to keep all their aircraft running if not flying. They understand old aircraft, have a runway and permanent access and hangarage if needed. Not too far from Wellesbourne for shared engineering.
The other option is to raise the money to do  the next modification to keep her in the air. It was mentioned at Lutterworth & I think involved making a full set of leading edges :-)

Ah - yes - The next generation Mods - How many are there and what are they, How will it increase the FI. Are there enough engine hours/engines left. :?:

These are thing I would like answers to with out some one heavy booting over it and saying it not important  , it is, I asked the question and would like to see the answers with out negative responses - You never know it may happen! :D

@ deelyt

I am sure the engineers will answer your questions but you need to pose them in a separate thread in the engineering section as it is unlikely they will see them in other threads such as this one as they do not often have the time to look through general threads.

Nice discussion on FIs. Nowt from engineers about 558 specifically - especially the mod I mentioned earlier.
