Well said northern monkey!

I would like to thank Lew for taking the time to give us an update.

As for Nick, you have made your point quite clear both on here and other fora.

THIS thread is for updates on what is happening NOW and to give a self-confessed and proud of it zealot like myself to thank the team for taking some time out to keep us inforrmed.

Yes, we all agree what happened shouldn't have happened, but regretably it did.

THIS thread isn't for discussing that, if you want to start another discussion, start another thread.

If you use this thread to repeat yourself yet again, then it is likely that this thread will get locked and we stand the chance of missing out on the information we are all looking forward to hearing.

Quite why you find it necessary to link to my PPRuNe identity, I do not know.  It is the height of bad manners to reveal a 'real' identity in such a way as you should well know.
To be fair , you'll have to admit that your PPRuNe ID had already been 'outed' by others almost 3 weeks ago in the "Crew Training & Display Practice" topic , yet you failed to make any objections to this at the time.
My reason for linking it here was as I stated : you insist on referring to it as a "very serious incident" , yet you know from the PPRuNe topic that the AAIB do not consider this to be the case.

Yes, I frequently tested the VC10K from Scrapheap Challenge St Athan........
Many thanks for your recollections.
I just wish my notekeeping system had been a bit { lot ! } tidier at the time , or that I could remember my website log-in details for both the "Milscanners" & "Touchdown News" Newsgroups { assuming their archives go back far enough } , that way I'd be able to quote 'chapter & verse' on many of the incidents I've heard.
Unfortunately , my notes mainly consist of simple jottings made at the time & can only really be referenced to other jottings { references to the Cottesmore RIAT ; aircraft involved in various conflicts ( Kuwait , Kosovo & other Balkan states ) ; various aircraft crashes such as the pair of F15s in Scotland ( 2001 ? ) ; maritime distress incidents ( LADL5 Wilana , Marble Arch , LFWW Elektron , FZTT Lorient , Ivoli Sun , to name but a few ) }

Incidentally, the 'other party' at Newark had raised his concerns directly on more than one occasion.
If no suitable outcome was forthcoming , did they then 'escalate' it by contacting the relevant "highers" { be that RR , Marshalls or even the CAA } ??

I would submit that it's the height of bad manners to have different identities on different websites. Aren't you the same person?

So, unless I'm reading things wrong in the newsletter it would seem that one of the previously removed engines is now back serviceable and being used in the aircraft again as a replacement, with the other engine being one of the two remaining zero-timed engines.

That means there's a nice zero timed engine available as a future spare.  :D

Is it just me { or should I say , my computer setup } , or is there a problem with the presumed video attachment that Lew's posted ??
I say presumed , because there's nothing showing on my computer other than the "Block" option when I hover the mouse over the suspected on-screen location of the link.
Before anyone asks , I'm using the latest version of Firefox { 13.0 } & Flash-player { 11.3.300.257 }.....it also doesn't display when I open this page in IE.
Other vids work OK , but I encountered the same problem after I uploaded some youtube attachments on a different topic on this forum.

Beautiful to see totally unscathed engine bays.

Looking at the 'old' engines you would never guess what they had been through.

Thanks Lew for the photo update.

Couldn't do a time lapse of the reinstall could you?

That would be interesting viewing.
