20 Year OLD Video of XH558...
« on: June 27, 2013, 10:22:03 PM »
Recently aquired from a C130 Pilot....Ray Evans from 30 Squadron on a DVD he sent us of various stuff taken from his Hercules.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTNsY-Ni ... e=youtu.be

He seems to indicate that it is from one of the last ever (or the VERY last!) flights before XH558 left RAF service.

Maybe someone can recognise exactly when and were it is?

Its well worth a watch in any case.

Enjoy

Norman

It wasn't the last flight. I'm fairly sure it was the shoot where Charles Toop 'Up and Away' photo came from [often used by the VTST] and that was over Lincolnshire September 1992.

Captain Paul Millinkin with DT in the right hand seat.

I think your right Pam... only " Official" C130/Vulcan in-flight link-up I can find is 7th Sept 1992 for media photoshoot en-route to a display at Marham... her 6th last RAF display...

I have the signed print on my wall and those are the fields! You can really see where the painting came from.

Thanks for that, has narrowed it down and its still a "significant" point in 558's history.

I'll feed this back to Ray, its nice to be able to get hold of some of this old footage.

Needless to say a DVD will be heading for "head office" with the footage in due course via my Regional Rep.

I don't see a problem with that, Ray will be happy for it to get as many hits as possible, just link to the youtube so we can keep track of viewings?
