Question about controls
« on: August 28, 2013, 09:48:45 PM »
I'm doing cockpit tours of XM569 (Forward fuselage section in Gloucester) and wondered if anyone can tell me what the switches do in the attached photo.

1 - guarded switch on the left of the throttle levers

2 - vertical button underneath number '1'

3 - Locking switch underneath the throttle levers (the the right of number 2) (air brakes?)

4 - guarded switch to the right of the throttle levers and the button above it

Where is the control that starts all of the engines at once for a QRA/Scramble?

grateful for any advice

I'm only going from memory (& that's not very good these days!) but I think 2 was the RPM Governor Switch. The Rapid Start button was just to the rear of the 4 individual start buttons. The button at 4 may have been the Auto-throttle engage switch (that did not work). Can't remember 1.

Using 2 crib sheets (and not having to rely on dodgy memory)

1 is the RPM Governor switch
2 is the JPT Limiter switch
3 is the Air Brakes switch
4 is the Air brake emergency switch

Push button is the TFR

As Paddy said the rapid start selector is on the engine start panel (just behind the captains left elbow - where he cant see it!)

How does he do it?  ;)

(easy if you look after the library - I'd have posted the page on here - but the file is too big  ::))
I'll never give up on the dream!

Thanks very much Paddy and Sam, I can appear to be a little more knowledgeable now!
All the best
