How about the 'Quick Reply' feature?  (unhides a no frills reply box at the bottom without reloading the entire page)

I know there's an Active Topics thingy at the bottom of each forum (took me ages to find it!) - would be nice to have the same feature as the old place, where Active Topics would show any live thread from any forum, all on one page. Makes it easier for us "quick look at the forum on our lunch-break" types :)

The old forum has an Active Topics button which would show any recently active thread in a list, regardless of which section it was in.

There's an Active Topics thing on this one, but it only seems to show the ones in the section that you're in.

and when you click on one of them it lists them all for you - definitely ate too many mushrooms in wales

The old forum Active Topic setup showed active topics grouped into their various discussion areas - whereas this one seems to lump them all together - unless there is some way to control this!

I expect I'm missing something here, but its not obvious!

one thing about the active topics selection - it used to select down to the last 6 hours and 2 hours, could those options be added please?

edit - Oh, and you oculd set it to refresh every *** minutes if you wanted  - can that be added when time allows please (if possible), my refresh button is already getting worn out

Try clearing your cookie cache. Works for me so far. This procedure does not involve Jaffa Cakes or biscuits of any kind.

YUP!
I'm aware of that one, and have posted in that topic already Andy.
I just wondered if this forum would give us "who was having a birthday that day", like the old one did at the bottom of the "All topics" page .

The forum is doing weird things for me, whevever I post it says" you can't post again this soon" or something, so I try a couple of times and then go off in a huff. Clearly every time I try, it's posting for me    and the smilies work at home but not at work    and it's all horrible and 747s are better than Vulcans anyway, wahwahwah

Are we going to be having a volunteers events page on this forum? Was a useful reference point for volunteers, saved trawling the whole forum and then ringing one of the committee at 4am  :D

Glad people have flagged up the active topics issue - I was going to suggest that too. Another useful feature of the active topics page was that all the threads were listed under their respective subjects such as Aviation Waffle etc.  On this forum the threads are listed in chronological order regardless of which heading they were posted under.
