New Fuel Tank/s
« on: December 20, 2013, 05:24:46 PM »
Since the curtailment of the flying season due to the fuel tank leaks, comments on this have subsided.

With the recent information in the newsletter on progress of the winter service, is there any news as to the progress of the manufacture and supply of the replacement tank/s?

Well with the excellent unscheduled update regarding the wing modifications and the fact that there will be a lull in those proceedings, I'll ask again, any news on the fuel tank/s?

It's under manufacture and there will be news in a few weeks on progress. The production schedule is not expected to cause any issues with completion of the service.

As much as I know.

We are all hopeful that the maintenance programme is running along nicely with a hope of the first flight towards the end of this month, but that won't be happening if the new tank is not fitted, so how is that going?

New tank has arrived at the hangar and will be featured in tomorrow's newsletter.

They have laid it on the wing for today's weighing and the plan is to fit it next week.... more tomorrow.

Great news, at this rate there will never be an end to 558's flying life (yeah, ok, I can dream!).

Tank is in the hole  :)

So are Ray and Mouse  ;)

So glad we don't have integral tanks  ;)  ;)

Thank goodness for little blokes, I won't have a word said against them.
Good luck with the refitting and thanks for keeping us up to speed.
Cheers

Never be an end - clearly not realistic.  A flying future beyond 2015 is a dream that could come true !!
