I along with many others was rather surprised at the early return of 558 !,we would have thought that modern technology with regards to weather forecasting would have given the crew plenty of information regarding the weather en route prior to committing to take off .

The modern technology worked perfectly but the crew decided to try and get to the displays anyway.

Listening to them talking about all the alternatives with regard to the weather made your head spin.

They tried to get to get down South but the weather made it impossible (bear in mind the aircraft is no longer equipped with any sort of radar which will detect nasty solid things in big grey clouds) so regrettably they had to make the decision to return....
I'll never give up on the dream!

Although we were very disappointed not to see them at Little Gransden I do appreciate their attempts, rather than just not bothering.

It was noticeable how many people packed up and left immediately after the announcement, which was barely half-way through the display, and before the weather there really closed in.  I suspect all but the biggest shows next year are really going to suffer from the inverse of 'The Vulcan Effect'.

They survived post 1992, they will survive post 2015.

They will have to get their fingers out though to get something really worth getting up at stupid o'clock for.

Maybe there should now be a big public push to get Just Jane skybound.......
