Vulcan retrospective
« on: October 31, 2015, 05:55:13 PM »
Is this time to look back at what we achieved? To remember the time, effort and hope we all put in to this project. To share thoughts, memories and photos.

Nor can I when I refresh the page. Looking into it. I've removed it for now.

I was not there at the rollout but Flibster was and took these.

I was stuck at work and took snapshots of the event via the webcam. I put them in the gallery section. Are they still availableon here?

This is great idea. Lets see what everyone can come up with :-)
All my pics from that time are on the hard drive of an old computer. I will try to get them off somehow.

So What are your memories and how far back do they go???

Here is one from the original XH558 The Vulcan Association. The one that went bust. May have an earlier one somewhere. Also membership card from 91/92. We went to the very first AGM (think it was) at RAF Cranwell. Have some pictures somewhere. So we have both been supporters for quite some time!

I've got the complete series :)
I think I joined the TVOC (as it was called then) in either 93/94. Felicity Irwin was fundraising and asking people to donate £1.

The TVOC came into being a bit later than that I think Mr Knees. If my memory serves me correctly RP became involved around '97. That when the TVOC was started.

I don't think Felicity Irwin was involved until the early noughties? I remember her saying she heard Robert on the radio saying 558 may go to the US if funds couldn't be raised for the restoration.

The first club for 558 as a civilian a/c was started by the chap who emigrated to Canada? - I'm sure Denis would remember his name. Was it Colin someone?

Take a look at this website. Has information on the early days of XH558 and the Vulcan Association started by Peter and Maura Quicke. May not be up to date but is interesting nevertheless.
