Police are now investigating reports that Andy Hill was flying dangerously low a year earlier.

Another disgusting display of "trial by press".

The newspapers should keep quiet and let the authorities do their job.

I was there on the Saturday and a Jet Provost did abandon its display after coming out of a loop very close to the ground and to the crowd.  I'm no expert but in the dive the line didn't look right to me given displays by other aircraft, so much so that my 'fight or flight' response kicked in.  The commentator said the pilot had abandoned as the murky conditions that day made his positioning difficult to judge.  XH558 was not able to display that day as the conditions at Doncaster were such that they couldn't be sure of enough visibility to land.  Fortunately the two Lancs did display.
