James May: The Reassembler
« on: April 05, 2016, 07:46:50 AM »
Brilliant stuff!

You can't beat a bit of 'Men In Sheds' and James May is slowly becoming Jack Hargreaves in this three part series.
For those of us with an engineering bent I can recommend it!

Here's Part one where he reassembles a Suffolk Punch, petrol, lawn mower.

(There's a Telephone and an electric guitar to come in the next two parts)

I bet not more than one other person on here knows who Jack Hargreaves was!

I also bet the other person lives in Bournemouth and supports the Red and White stripey team!

I liked the way they cut out the swearing while he fitted the piston rings...
I'll never give up on the dream!

I think you underestimate his popularity Sam. His attitude to urban areas was always in conflict with his roots, and his ability to explain the function of things was great.

I don't live in Bourmemouth, I do however fondly remember Jack Hargreave's TV show, How!

Good old Jack......  ;D

I used to watch that programme every week. Went on to present How.

I lived near Christchurch in the late 60's early 70's and remember Jack Hargreaves presenting 'Out of Town'. We always used to sing the theme tune 'Say what you will' as the programme started. Happy childhood memories.

Well I guessed you'd remember him (surprised so many others do though!)

I remember Out Of Town and that theme tune...
