Egypt Air Loss - 19th May
« on: May 19, 2016, 08:10:54 AM »
Sad news coming in of the suspected loss (at this moment) of an Air Egypt A320, over the Med. in Egyptian airspace.

One of the numerous aviation experts interviewed by the BBC was our Sean, sporting his Vulcan lapel badge.
I said "no more passwords" and look what happened!

Sadly confirmed that the aircraft crashed.

Information coming in that there was smoke in a toilet, overheating units in the cockpit and below it...... this aircraft does not have lithium-ion batteries, but that is the location of the batteries and avionics.

Very sad for all those involved.

1st June - Now confirmed that the search has found a signal from the recording equipment, but not yet located it. Hopefully, finding the recorders will put an end to speculation.
